A KITE FESTIVAL

Come Fly a Kite May 4 & 5  10AM – 6PM

Springtime in New Mexico brings wind and sunny skies, creating perfect conditions for the free 18th Annual Kite Festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 4th& 5th, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood.

Join the fun as kites fill the skies with colorful shapes of all sizes throughout the weekend.  Visitors can bring their own kite, buy one at the Festival, or watch professional stunt kite fliers maneuver kites expertly in the wind.  All ages have fun participating in the kite flying contests or flying their own kites on the large grass fields. Kites will be available for sale.

The Festival also features sustainable living displays, solar oven demonstrations and water harvesting tours.  Food and drinks will be available from vendors.

Visitors can get close to the 20 species of native New Mexico wildlife in the Zoo, including 4 adorable tree climbing grey foxes.
