Harvest Festival, Saturday and Sunday, AUGUST 28 & 29, 2010

Each year, Widlife West holds a Harvest Festival celebrating the area's culture, traditions, and agricultural heritage.

To celebrate the area's culture and agricultural heritage visitors can sample and purchase locally grown products ─ freshly cut sweet corn, raspberries, honey, pumpkins and other yummy products.  Anasazi Fields Winery will be on hand for wine tasting.

Travel back in time and experience an old west atmosphere throughout the park. Explore a replica of the western town of Venus, which was the original name of Edgewood. See blacksmith demonstrations, antique cars and trucks, old iron tractors and machinery, and historic ranch equipment. Then take an old-fashioned hayride around the park.

Watch the incredible free-flight peregrine falcon show on Saturday 6 p.m. Wildlife West is the only place in New Mexico to experience this thrilling free-flight program presented by world-renowned falconer, Tom Smylie.

There will be lots of games and stage shows for children, folk music by Jimbo, opportunity to experience wildlife up-close, many artists and vendors, and a 5K pronghorn run and one-mile walk or 1/4 mile for kids on Sunday morning,

Don’t miss the Chuckwagon Dinner Show on Saturday, 6 – 9 p.m. Come early for the activities during the day and stay for the evening barbeque and western music concert. Reservations for the dinner show are required by 1 p.m. on the day of the show.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $19 for seniors, $10 for children 5-11, and kids under 5 are free.

All activities throughout the weekend, except for the Chuckwagon Dinner featuring Syd Masters and the Swing Riders, are included with regular admission to the park: $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, $4 students and children under 5 are free.  Events and music concerts are presented in a covered all-weather amphitheater. And there's free dry camping, parking and hay rides. To get a feel for the fun, take a look at our Harvest Festvial 2008 slideshow.
